This set of 3 wood thread taps allow you to create clean, sharp internal threads in both hard and soft woods, using only a handheld drill and pilot bit. Quick and easy to use, these bits are ideal for installing workbench hardware, creating custom jigs and even flat pack furniture. Containing 3 of the most commonly used metric thread sizes, this set will produce M6 x 1.0mm, M8 x 1.25mm and M10 x 1.5mm threaded holes up to 80mm in depth.

Each tap is engineered from M2 high speed steel, ensuring excellent durability and superior edge retention. A black oxide finish provides corrosion resistance and reduces friction whilst drilling. Three long, deep flutes maximise chip clearance to ensure each resultant thread is precise, accurate and well defined.

Suitable for use within any standard combi drill/driver, the 6mm hex shanks increase security within the chuck to eliminate slipping under load. Suggested pilot hole diameters for softwoods and plywood are 4mm for the M6 bit, 5mm for the M8 bit and 7mm for the M10 bit. For hardwoods, it is recommended to increase these pilot hole sizes by a further 1mm. ©
