Router Table Coping Sled

This router table coping sled delivers secure workholding and clean, feather-free results when routing the end grain of narrow workpieces. Whether creating rail and stile doors, tenons or half lap joints, this advanced router sled provides greater joint making options, allowing both 90° and 45° coping cuts, ideal for mitred joints.

Designed for use with all sizes and styles of router table, the sled can be used with either the supplied slider bar within a 19mm mitre channel, or with the clear acrylic guard registering against the router table fence. The slider bar can be installed in 3 different positions to accommodate various sizes of router table, and the expansion discs can be adjusted from above the sled to ensure zero lateral play. Engineered from a strong yet lightweight 8mm thick aluminium plate, the base features two slick, low friction strips on the underside to deliver a smooth and controlled gliding motion across the worktable.

The supplied sacrificial board is used when running the sled in a mitre slot and is trimmed to length by the router bit before use. This then provides a perfect reference of the point of cut, allowing exact alignment with layout marks on the workpiece. This zero clearance support also ensures cleaner cuts, eliminating tear-out on the bottom face of the workpiece. Replacement sacrificial boards are available separately.

The sled provides a stock width capacity of 324mm and a thickness capacity of 110mm. Four steel dogs provide quick workpiece alignment at either 90° or 45°, with both angles laser etched on the body of the sled. Each dog features micro adjustment, allowing the angle of the workpiece to be fine tuned if the end is not perfectly square. The two heavy-duty hold down clamps can be repositioned to suit the size of workpiece and rotate freely through 360° for unrestricted clamping. Exerting 500N of clamping power each the clamps ensure no lifting of the workpiece, and by reaching closer to the point of cut, eliminate vibration whilst routing. ©
